OUR STORY
It all started in 2014 when my sister phoned home from Hong Kong and asked my parents if she could host her very simple and casual wedding at Haycroft Farm. (Long before the wedding venue was even thought of)
She promised that all of the planning would be handled via email, and she reassured my parents that the preparations for her simple and casual wedding would be a breeze.
As time drew closer, we quickly realised that planning a wedding, even if the brief is simple and casual – can be a mammoth task. My love for planning and organising was finally put into practice. I gave up my corporate job in Sandton, and relocated to the Midlands in KwaZulu-Natal, with nothing more than a laptop and some sticky notes. And that’s where my dream of Haycroft Farm began.
I leased the property from my parents and started developing the property, into an exclusive wedding venue and self-catering accommodation which sleeps seventy two guests. We have converted some existing buildings, and added some brand new buildings. The old horse stud farm has set the scene, and this is evident throughout the property. I am a simple country girl, who loves planning and organising functions, whether it be an intimate dinner for 2, or a “simple & casual” wedding for 222!
